Nursery Rooms for Babies, Toddlers & Pre-School in Westbury on Trym

Each room at The Manor House Nursery is built around a specific stage of development. Different routines, different environments, different focuses - but the same key person model, the same attention to the individual child, and the same commitment to keeping you informed throughout the day.

A room for every stage, from babies to pre‑school

Wrens is for babies from 6 to 18 months, Sparrows for 18 months to 3 years, and Woodpeckers from 3 years until they start Reception. Moves between them are gentle and supported.

6 to 18 months

Key focus
Babies explore through their senses and develop their movement, supported by close relationships with familiar adults who help them feel safe.
A typical day
The day follows your baby's rhythm, with play led by whatever catches their interest and pauses only for meals. The youngest children can move between the Treetops rooms, with a familiar adult by their side.
Sleep approach
Naps follow the routine your baby already has at home. We ask how they like to settle and when they usually sleep, and adjust as that changes.
18 months to 3 years

Key focus
Toddlers grow in confidence, learn to make sense of their feelings with support, and explore what they can do for themselves.
A typical day
Children choose where they play and what they play with. Downstairs they move freely between indoors and the garden, with staff following to join in wherever play takes them.
Sleep approach
After lunch, toddlers rest on their own mat for as long as they need. We follow the routine you share from home, so sleep still feels familiar.
3 to 5 years

Key focus
Doing things for themselves, making friends and working out disagreements, putting feelings into words, and strengthening hands and fingers through everyday making and building.
A typical day
Much of the day is spent outdoors, with children following their own interests in play. They help prepare snack, cutting up fruit, and serve themselves at mealtimes.
Sleep approach
Pre-school children have usually dropped their nap by now, so the day runs without scheduled sleep. If anyone genuinely needs rest, a quiet space is there, following whatever parents tell us works at home.
